Who is behind Emilia's Emaille?
Share
Hello dear ones! Today I want to tell you a little more about myself and the passion behind this channel. I'm Emilia and I live in beautiful Ulm. For four years now, my heart has been beating for a very special art form: fire enamel (also known as "true enamel" or "hot enamel").
A true family project.
Even though the jewelry bears my name, I am not alone. Emilia's Enamel is a true family project! My father and brother actively support me in the studio – be it with technical implementation, metalworking, or inspiration for new shapes.
What exactly is fire enamel?
Fire enamel is not a lacquer and not a paint. It is powdered glass that is melted onto copper or other metals at extremely high temperatures of over 800°C. It is a dance with fire, where the material melts under the heat into a shiny, hard, and eternal surface.
Why is this jewelry so unique?
Timelessness: Enamel never fades. The colors remain as vibrant decades later as they were on the first day. Unique pieces by chance: During the firing process, tiny details, cracks, or color gradients (like the craquelure effect) often emerge that can never be exactly copied. Each piece is absolutely unique. Tactile quality: The glassy, smooth surface feels cool and elegant on the skin.
A big milestone.
Exactly four months ago, I fulfilled a big dream and opened my own online shop! Feel free to stop by and discover my latest creations.
Thank you for joining me on this journey!
