Warum mich Chagall inspiriert hat: Die Magie der Farben von Nizza und die Geburt einer neuen Kollektion

Why Chagall inspired me: The magic of the colors of Nice and the birth of a new collection

Art often finds us in the most unexpected moments. For me, that moment was a visit to the National Marc Chagall Museum in Nice.

I went there knowing I would see avant-garde classics, but I had no idea I would leave the museum with a burning desire to translate these canvases into my own work.

Encountering the “Biblical Message”

Upon entering the museum halls in Nice, the first thing that captivates you is the color. In Chagall's work, color is alive. His blue is not just a pigment; it is the infinite depth of the sky or the ocean. His red is not merely a color but the passion and fire of life itself.

I paused before the huge paintings. There is so much lightness, so much sincerity, and an almost childlike, pure perception of the world in them. People floating over cities, lovers enveloped in flowers, and those incredible color combinations that seemingly don't belong together yet form a perfect harmony.

From Canvas to Enamel Jewelry

As I left the museum and stepped into the sun-drenched streets of Nice, I felt intoxicated. These images, and especially this bold palette, stayed with me. I wanted to "tame" these colors and make them tangible.

The fire enamel technique I work with is amazingly similar to Chagall's painting. Enamel also involves working with pure pigment, which must pass through fire to achieve its final, radiant glow.

The Birth of the "Wearable Art: Chagall" Collection

Back in my workshop, I began to experiment. I didn't want to simply copy the paintings. My goal was to convey the feeling.

  • The Special Blue: I selected enamel tones to achieve the depth found in the work "The Creation of Man."

  • Motifs and Forms: My earrings now feature soft, flowing lines and contrasting accents in gold and scarlet, symbols of the joy of life that permeates all of Marc Chagall's work.

Today, holding the finished earrings, I see more than just jewelry in them. In every curve, in every play of color, there is a piece of that sunny day in Nice and the profound inspiration the great master bestowed upon me.

For me, it's more than just jewelry. It's wearable art. A small reminder that we too can fly if colors live in our souls.
